Tacpac® is a multi-sensory process that combines the sense of touch and music through social interaction. It can be used to promote communication and movement through touch and music. It involves a series of tactile actions and massage movements with distinctive textures, carried out precisely to specific music tracks containing different tempos. The process involves the simple sense of touch with a familiar everyday object, such as a kitchen sponge, wooden spatula or furry fabric.
Through regular repetition of routines, children and young people with communication and interaction difficulties learn to anticipate elements of familiar everyday activities, helping them to express their likes and dislikes and to request ‘more’ of their favourite things.
