Mobile Data Allowances - do you qualify for free increase to support access to home learning?

The Department for Education (DFE) have put in place a scheme which allows an increase in mobile data allowances to support students with accessing home learning resources during the current national lockdown.

The scheme is open to families that meet the following criteria:

  1. Do not have access to a fixed broadband connection.
  2. Cannot afford the additional data needed to access educational resources or social care services.
  3. Have access to a mobile device that uses a participating network (listed below along with the data allowance provision)
  4. Are facing disruption to their face-to-face education or have been advised not to attend school.

Unlimited data until 31st July 2021

Tesco Mobile

20 GB of additional date per month until 31st July 2021

Unlimited data until 31st July 2021

Virgin Mobile

20 GB of additional date per month until 31st July 2021

 

If your child is a pupil of our school and you would like to take up the offer and you meet the eligibility criteria for the scheme, please email a7017@taw.org.uk  heading your email Mobile Data. You then need to provide the following information, this is so that the increase in data from the relevant mobile network can be arranged:

 

  1. Account holders name for the device.
  2. Mobile phone number.
  3. Mobile network (this must be from one of the network providers listed above)
  4. If the mobile is pay monthly or pay as you go.
  5. Confirmation you have read and agree to the privacy policy. This must be confirmation from an adult. The Privacy statement can be found on the government website here:
