  • Pupils who may be Extremely Clinically Vulnerable and attendance at school in November 2020 Lockdown

    Wed 04 Nov 2020

We have received the following information from the government today.

More evidence has emerged that shows there is a very low risk of children becoming very unwell from COVID-19, even for children with existing health conditions. Most children originally identified as clinically extremely vulnerable no longer need to follow this advice. Speak to your GP or specialist clinician, if you have not already done so, to understand whether your child should still be classed as clinically extremely vulnerable.

Those children whose doctors have confirmed they are still clinically extremely vulnerable are advised not to attend school while this advice is in place. Your school will make appropriate arrangements for you to be able to continue your education at home. Children who live with someone who is clinically extremely vulnerable, but who are not clinically extremely vulnerable themselves, should still attend school.

Parents of clinically extremely vulnerable children will be receiving a letter shortly confirming this advice.

FOR ANY FAMILIES THAT HAD PUPILS WHO WERE SHIELDING IN THE SUMMER LOCKDOWN, WE ADVISE THAT YOU CONSULT WITH MEDICAL STAFF.  PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU RECEIVE ADVISE FOR YOUR CHILD DURING THIS PERIOD NOT TO BE IN SCHOOL.

  • Update on Tier 2

    Sun 01 Nov 2020

We hope that all our pupils and  families are ok and have had a good half term week. You will all know that Telford is now at Tier 2  COVID19 level. In school, there is little that will change as we have stringent measures already in place. The government advice is that when schools move to Tier 2, secondary age pupils and staff in secondary schools wear face coverings in busy corridors and communal areas. Our pupils are exempt lease be aware though that staff are more likely to be wearing face coverings at busier corridor times- this will include transitions when pupils arrive and depart.

The government is remaining committed for schools to be open when we have a national Lockdown later this week. We are waiting on guidance from the government and the LA on any processes and procedures.

Sending all sincere and very best of wishes

    The Bridge School
